From initial site investigation through lab testing and expert reporting, we deliver objective, science-based findings that support accurate claim documentation and resolution.
Expert onsite investigation of flooring failures including delamination, cupping, buckling, adhesive bond failure, and surface deterioration across all flooring types — LVT, LVP, SPC, hardwood, tile, carpet, and polished concrete.
Comprehensive concrete slab and subfloor moisture testing using ASTM F2659 dual-depth surface readings, calcium chloride, and in-situ RH probes. We identify hydrostatic pressure, high pH, and vapor drive issues before they destroy floor coverings.
Third-party laboratory analysis including FTIR spectroscopy, GC-MS, scanning electron microscopy, ASTM and ANSI compliance testing, and adhesive chemistry analysis to identify root causes of failure at the material level.
Infrared thermal imaging to detect moisture beneath finished floor surfaces and within concrete slabs. Combined with rebound hammer, ultrasonic pulse velocity, and core sampling to assess slab integrity.
Evaluation of concrete surface preparation and profile adequacy per ICRI standards. Assessment of curing compounds, bond breakers, old adhesive residue, and pH conditions that impact flooring system performance.
Development of science-based remediation and replacement protocols specifying correct moisture mitigation systems, surface preparation requirements, adhesive selection, and installation standards for defensible claim support.
Detailed inspection reports formatted to support insurance claim documentation, including Xactimate cost reviews, scope development, and expert narrative suitable for adjusters, appraisers, and legal proceedings.
Fact, proffered, and perceived expert witness services for insurance disputes, contractor litigation, and manufacturer warranty claims. Onsite interviews, deposition preparation, and courtroom testimony available.
Our investigators are qualified across the full spectrum of commercial and residential flooring assemblies.
Concrete slabs release moisture vapor for months — or even years — after placement. A 4" slab requires approximately 120 days to hydrate under proper conditions. When flooring is installed prematurely, or when hydrostatic pressure, high pH, or curing compound residues are present, virtually every flooring system will fail.
Elevated pH at the slab surface — often caused by moisture reacting with alkalis in the concrete — attacks adhesive chemistry, causing bond failure, osmotic blistering, and plasticizer migration in resilient flooring. Without proper surface profile preparation (CSP) and moisture mitigation, no amount of premium flooring product will perform as intended.
Our investigators test, document, and report on these conditions using ASTM-compliant protocols including F2659 dual-depth moisture readings, in-situ RH probes, and concrete surface pH assessment — providing the objective data needed to determine liability and scope.

Testing Standards We Apply
Independent flooring inspections for water damage, fire restoration, and contractor disputes where objective third-party documentation is required to support a fair settlement.
Flooring installed over slabs with undetected high moisture vapor emission or elevated pH — leading to adhesive failure, bubbling, cupping, and mold growth. We identify, test, and document the full scope.
Large-scale flooring failure investigations across office buildings, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and multi-family properties where scope and liability are disputed between owners, contractors, and manufacturers.
Flooring failures are rarely straightforward. Moisture, pH, adhesive chemistry, substrate preparation, and installation practices all interact — and pinpointing root cause requires both field expertise and laboratory science.
Independent third-party investigation — no conflicts with contractors or manufacturers
ASTM and ANSI compliant testing methodologies for defensible findings
Identify moisture, pH, and substrate failures before costly re-installation
Expert documentation that stands up to carrier scrutiny and appraisal challenges
Support accurate claim valuation for flooring replacement and remediation scope
Prevent recurring failures by identifying root cause, not just symptoms
Nationwide deployment for large commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and multi-family properties
